After much preparation to cycle the Southern Tier, we have since pulled the pin and had to fly back to Australia. That said, the ten days of cycling we did achieve are still etched in my mind as a thrilling experience. This blog is a daily journal I kept at the end of each day.
On 9 March we landed in San Diego with very specific plans. We needed to purchase all of our gear (and bikes) within four days before we officially started our cycle across the USA.
Sad to be leaving Mexico, but excited to be entering our final country (on the world tour), we boarded our flight from Cabo San Lucas to San Francisco. Ready for all the sights, sounds and sea lions!
After a rather relaxing week and a half on the east, it was time to push on and head further south along the Baja California Sur peninsula. From here, we travelled south and then west!

From Taboga Island, we bid farewell to Soz (Moo’s mum) and made the hellish overnight bus ride from Panama City to Bocas del Toro and then Boquete.
Our final adventure to wrap up our round the world trip is finally revealed! Moo and I have decided to cycle trans-America along the Southern Tier Route from west to east. Why? Well, why not?
