How the heck can we afford to travel for a year? Part Two

It’s no surprise the first thing people ask me when I tell them I’m going travelling with my boyfriend for a year is – How? How could we possible afford it, and all whilst living in Sydney?
You probably won’t believe me – but – quitting my job and saving my pennies have been the easier decision when planning a year-long trip around the world. Honestly, the hardest part is what to take!
Deciding where to go on a year long break feels like an artist with a blank canvas. The ideas are endless and the fear of missing out means carefully curating a dream bucket list.
It’s happening people! Both Moo and I have officially quit our jobs in preparation for a year abroad. That’s right, we’re packing up, selling up and heading west for, as we put it: “long as the money lasts” and we’re doing that with just 7kgs – carry-on luggage only.

Since then it’s taken me to destinations I’d not normally would have traveled and I’m thrilled to state that I’ve now visited all states and territories in Australia. This year I made it to South Australia.
I have a favour to ask. I’d like to make a call to action – for all Australians. I have a simple task I urge you to consider. That is, to travel the land down under.
Often we are too quick to fly abroad for our vacations, whether it be; to relax, to indulge or be conversant with a new culture.
We do it all the time, we’re the type who travel often; we carry a keep-cup and reusable water bottle and carbon offset our flights – but we’re still making these simple errors in our travel style to harm communities and; impact the environment.
These guys aren’t famous for flaunting their flesh (possibly my best alliteration ever), these epic ladies are killing it at doing good! Adventurous, sporty, stylish and they’re ethical travelers. I’ve hand picked these legends for good reason, and you will probably want to follow them too if you’re needing #inspo
